HSE First Aid at work re-certification Course (2 Day)

This course is designed for currently qualified HSE approved first aiders in order to update them on changes in practice & legislation, and to re-establish previously learned first aid skills, leading to re-certification for a further three years. This course is also run in accordance with The Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.Our aim is to continue to promote confident and competent first aiders, and to provide employers with a quality first aid re-certification package.

Course content for the 2 day course includes:

  • Communication
  • Resuscitation
  • Managing unconscious casualties
  • Treating & controlling bleeding
  • Treating burns & scalds
  • Treating bone, muscle & joint injuries
  • Treating minor injuries
  • Treating shock
  • Treating eye injuries
  • Poisons, gases & fumes
  • Moving injured persons
  • Recognising illnesses
  • Record keeping
  • Personal hygiene
  • Legislation updates
  • Practical skill updates

Length of course:

2 days (12 hours)

Outcome:

Re-certification in first aid, approved by the Health & Safety Executive (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 is awarded to all successful students following full attendance & on passing final assessments in practice & theory. This certificate is also valid from 3 years from date of assessment.First Aid Scotland actively involve the delegates in every step of the re-certification process.
